About The 1934 petersen Bentley

Historical Overview

1934 Bentley Boat Tail, restored in 2013 by Bob Petersen in  Devon, England.  Chassis, frame, suspension, brakes, axles all re-built and uprated. The car uses a 1952 Bentley inline 6, 4,566cc (278 cubic inch) R Type engine mated to a re-built Roots Style Supercharger. A pair of SU Carbs sit in front of the Blower. The spec includes a 12 Volt Electrical System, a high-pressure oil pump, and uprated cooling system. Connolly Hide is used throughout and special Wilton Carpets were made for the car. Instruments are all copies of those used in Sir Tim Birkin's Le Mans race car. This is a very capable tourer with a possible top speed of 137 MPH. The car shape is based on UU44 owned by Sir Victor Gauntlet the Chairman of Aston Martin Lagonda from 1981 to 1991.

Bob Petersen also built the Jay Leno 27 Litre Meteor car after meeting Mr. Leno outside the Pebble Beach Lodge in the early 2000's.

The Boat Tail has covered 10,000 miles touring Europe and now lives in Monterey.
